When it comes to lambing, we’re self-confessed softies here at Lamlac HQ. And judging by all the amazing entries into our Lamlac Moments 2021 photo competition, we know you are too!
We were so excited to run the competition again this year (by popular demand!), especially as we’d decided to introduce a series of subcategories in a bid to narrow down our faves. But that backfired (haha!) because we were so overwhelmed by the number of entries we received that we had to put it out to our Facebook fans to vote and help us decide on this year’s woolly winners. Here’s a little reminder of how things went…
The subcategories were:
Lambs with pets
Lambs with your family
Lambs with sunrises/sunsets
And here are our finalists…
With so many entries, the Lamlac team had our work seriously cut out, but we managed to whittle down the entries to just nine finalists in each category.
Main category
Capturing the cute and comedic side of sheep farming, the entries into our Lamlac Moments main category didn’t disappoint. Here’s our final nine.
Lambs with pets
With pets part and parcel of many farming households, it’s inevitable that they get involved when lambing season comes around. With the hive of activity inspiring inquisitiveness and a nurturing instinct in all creatures, great and small, the potential for a heart-warming snap is huge. Here’s the selection that made it to our shortlist.
Lambs with family
We love to see the younger generation getting involved in farming life, and let’s face it, what could be cuter than a little’un and a lamb? Sure enough, your entries into our ‘Lambs with family’ category flooded our newsfeeds and here are the nine that made the final cut.
Lambs at sunrise or sunset
There’s something really special about each end of the day, and they don’t call it ‘golden hour’ without reason. From crisp wintry skies to a spring sunrise, your dawn and dusk sheep farming photos have had us in absolute awe. The nine we put to the final vote were…
And the winners, as voted by you…
Thanks to our Facebook community, who helped us narrow our finalists down to identify our winners. We received a whopping 779 votes altogether, with some seriously stiff competition. And here are the winners you chose.
Each of our lucky winners has bagged themselves a copy of their photo, printed on canvas, to take pride of place on their wall.
But we couldn’t leave it there…
Here are some of our finalists who we just couldn’t resist giving a shout out …
Nicky Davies and ‘Ready for work'
(We're not sure what role 2nd from the left plays in any day's hard graft, but we guess they have potential to make themself useful?!)
Emily Olde with 'Cute cuddles’
Heartwarming or what?
Olivia Sullivan and ‘Snowy nose’
Brrrrr! We can feel that chill now!
Massive thanks
It goes without saying that we couldn’t have done this without our wonderful Lamlac family – the sheep farming community, so our huge thanks go out to everyone who got involved by either entering, commenting or voting – or all three!
It won’t be long until lambing time rolls around again, so be sure to have your cameras at the ready to capture that winning snap for #LamlacMoments2022.
